The LightSheer produces a highly concentrated bundle of light of a distinct wavelength. This bundle of light is emitted for a mere fraction of a second onto the skin. The energy of the laser light is primarily absorbed by the pigment present in the hair root. Thereby the cells in the hair root are warmed up and destroyed selectively. The skin itself is being protected against overheating by an ingenious cooling system.
